Iris is the awareness layer of the Tairos portfolio. Its three configurations cover portable burst reconnaissance, sustained tactical overwatch and dock-resident fixed-site surveillance. Each feeds the Sentinel operational picture.
The operational problem
An infantry unit, a sustained operation and a fixed installation do not need the same aircraft. A portable platform must move with the operator. A tactical orbit must stay with the engagement. A fixed site must repeat patrols from a dock. Iris gives each setting its own physical answer without creating a separate information system.
Three configurations
Iris M30 — portable awareness
The hand-launched member of the family. Iris M30 supports local reconnaissance, target acquisition and handoff, battle-damage assessment and tactical overwatch for squad and platoon users.
Iris T — sustained tactical awareness
The fixed-wing member of the family. Iris T uses fixed-wing efficiency for long-duration overwatch, route reconnaissance and support to multi-asset operations without relying on fixed runway infrastructure.
Iris M400 — persistent fixed-site awareness
The dock-resident member of the family. Iris M400 cycles between patrol and dock to monitor bases, borders and critical infrastructure from a persistent site installation.
Shared system
Iris is not a separate camera feed beside the rest of the fleet. Its observations and tracks enter Sentinel Mesh and Fusion, then appear in the shared operational picture. Connected strike, counter-air and support platforms can receive the same awareness without an operator manually rebuilding the track in another system.
