Overview

Vision

Unmanned aircraft flying above a rocky coastline.

Tairos begins with unmanned platforms because they expose the central defense-engineering problem clearly: useful capability depends on the complete chain from sensing and communications to command and effect.

Starting point

Affordable platforms changed the operating equation.

Smaller unmanned systems make sensing, precision and mass available at a different cost and tempo from traditional platforms. Their value is limited when each vehicle remains an isolated feed, link and control loop.

The next engineering problem is integration: on-platform autonomy, shared awareness, resilient communications and human command across the force.

System direction

The system is larger than the airframe.

Sentinel is the common autonomy and command architecture. Tairos platforms provide effect, awareness, contest and sustainment across different mission ranges and environments. Relay, Panorama, ground equipment and operator systems connect them.

The architecture is systemic rather than bespoke. New platforms and modules should enter through shared interfaces instead of creating a new stack for every program.

Across domains

Air is the first domain, not the boundary.

The same operating logic extends to ground vehicles, uncrewed surface vessels and undersea systems. Each domain changes the mechanics, sensors and communications problem. Sentinel preserves the common relationship between platform autonomy, shared information and human intent.

Engineering and industry

Capability must be buildable, supportable and adaptable.

Tairos combines system engineering with selective vertical integration. Strategic interfaces, electronics, structures, power, communications and operator integration remain close to the product. Commodity inputs and regulated energetics stay with qualified suppliers and partners.

This boundary supports iteration, supply resilience and lifecycle support without pretending that one company should manufacture every component.

Meaning

Engineering matters when it reaches the important part of the problem. Tairos exists to put it there.

Real engineering is rare.
