The Tairos USV combines a suitable unmanned surface hull with Sentinel autonomy, modular mission interfaces and maritime networking. Tairos concentrates on the control, sensing, communications and mission-system layer while the hull and marine-drive choice is matched to the operating requirement.

Operational role

Surface missions often need a platform that can move sensors, effectors or smaller uncrewed systems without committing a crewed vessel. The USV provides that mobile surface presence and connects air, shore and undersea nodes through the same command architecture.

Mission configurations

Air-system carrier and launch node

Carries, supports and networks Tairos air platforms from the water, extending their point of use beyond the shoreline.

Patrol and awareness

Hosts sensing equipment for harbor, chokepoint, coastal and installation protection.

Surface effect

Supports an attritable one-way surface configuration where the authorized mission requires it.

UUV gateway

Acts as a surface bridge for UUV operations. The USV maintains radio or satellite connectivity above the surface and exchanges mission data with submerged vehicles through the appropriate acoustic, short-range optical or tethered interface.

Platform architecture

  • Mission-matched hull. The surface platform is selected or partnered around the required carriage, endurance and sea-state envelope.
  • Sentinel Edge onboard. Local autonomy supports navigation, mission execution and operation through degraded links.
  • Modular mission interface. Sensors, air-system carriage and other payloads connect through a consistent mechanical, power, data and software pattern.
  • Relay networking. The vessel can operate as a surface communications node for other Tairos assets.
