Nova-I 2 covers the higher, faster and longer-standoff end of the one-way attack drone threat class. It adds performance where Nova-I 1’s volume configuration reaches its natural boundary while remaining inside the same Picket and Sentinel command environment.
Mission scenario
Picket detects and classifies an inbound OWA track whose altitude, speed or intercept geometry exceeds the baseline tier. Sentinel assigns Nova-I 2, presents the engagement to the operator and maintains the bounded intercept mission after launch authorization.
Nova-I 2 remains a drone-on-drone interceptor. It does not extend the Nova-I mission into fighter, cruise-missile or ballistic-missile defense.

Nova-I 2 gives the layered system an answer when altitude, speed or standoff geometry exceeds Nova-I 1’s assigned profile.
Performance only where needed
Picket can reserve the extended-envelope configuration for the tracks that demand it and keep Nova-I 1 on the volume threat.
One command environment
Both interceptor tiers use Sentinel for track fusion, operator authorization and mission control, avoiding a second air-defense workflow.
Bounded autonomy
The terminal phase remains inside the operator-authorized target class, area and time. The platform cannot broaden the engagement on its own.
Family fit
Nova-I 1 and Nova-I 2 form a layered kinetic pair: baseline coverage for the core OWA threat and extended coverage for the harder profile.
