Apex-L carries an approved launched effect on the Apex airframe. It approaches the release condition, supports operator confirmation, releases through the modular mission interface and returns for re-arming.

Mission scenario

Some missions require repeated precision delivery rather than one aircraft per effect. Apex-L gives the operator time to approach, observe and decide. If the engagement is authorized, the aircraft releases the mission equipment and returns. If the condition is not met, it retains the effect, aborts and returns.

Configuration and operating model

The Apex airframe provides the common navigation, sensing, flight-control and mission-interface foundation. Apex-L adds a launched-effect module and release logic configured for the selected approved munition class.

The mission loop is straightforward:

  1. Approach: the aircraft navigates to the approved operating area.
  2. Confirm: onboard sensing supports positive operator confirmation of the authorized mission object.
  3. Authorize: the operator provides human-in-the-loop effect authorization.
  4. Release: the modular interface executes the approved release condition.
  5. Return: the aircraft recovers for inspection and re-arming.

Sentinel relationship

Sentinel provides navigation, target tracking, release-condition logic and the operator command surface. It does not create independent effect authority. The operator authorizes release and can abort before the event. Mission state remains bounded by the approved geography, time, target class and rules of engagement.

Apex-G uses the same base aircraft for direct-fire effect. Together, the two configurations cover repeated launched-effect delivery and reusable direct fire without creating separate operator systems.
