Communications and navigation
Tairos combines shared control-link architecture, platform-to-platform networking, Relay and on-platform navigation so the mission design does not depend on one communications path.
Control-link architecture
RF-linked platforms use a common control-link approach spanning platform receivers, operator transmitters, binding, encryption, antenna geometry and the ground segment. Configuration varies by platform size and regulatory environment.
Strix Opto uses a fiber-linked alternative for RF-silent control and video. The fiber interface connects to the same operator and onboard-system architecture.
Mesh and relay
Sentinel Mesh carries platform state, tracks and tasking between connected nodes. Larger platforms and Relay carry more of the network infrastructure so smaller platforms can remain simple.
On-platform navigation
The navigation stack combines cameras, inertial sensing and altitude references to provide local motion and position information when satellite navigation is degraded or unavailable. Compute remains on the platform and scales with the vehicle and mission.
One ground system
The ground segment, Merlin TX and Tairos goggles provide different operator surfaces for mission command and direct platform control. They use one link and operator architecture, while binding scope is configured to the approved platform or family.
